There was a generation of designs from Marvel that just didn't undertstand how to have a cohesive theme. I think one examples I've used in the past is how Captain America is deisgned: Chain mail, top, underwears onthe outside of the pants thats the same color as the legs, weird swashbuckler gloves and boots. And somehow, his main weapon is a...shield?
'Annihilus' is not guilt-free either: Robot body, spiked shoulder pads, weird organic wings.
